What is Hypnotherapy?
Hypnotherapy is when a counselor induces a hypnotic trance for the purposes of changing a behavior, releasing emotions and/or changing thoughts that are detrimental to a person. A hypnotic trance is when a person reaches a relaxed and focused state so the counselor can access the person’s subconscious mind.
Hypnotherapy can be used as a complement to traditional therapy. Hypnotherapy can also be used in place of traditional therapy in some circumstances. When hypnotherapy is used in place of traditional therapy, it is generally used for behavioral changes and can sometimes bring about change quicker than traditional counseling.
Using Insurance for Hypnotherapy
Insurance doesn’t usually cover hypnotherapy on its own. But it can be a part of a treatment plan for mental health counseling. I’m willing to help you get hypnotherapy covered by insurance if it is ethically possible.
